"Vanished" is Tim's third David Raker novel, which follow his highly acclaimed debut "Chasing the Dead" and its sequel, "The Dead Tracks". Tortured by his wife's early death, David Raker is one of the most charismatic, sensitive and unique missing persons investigators in current crime fiction/5(30).   No One Home is a brilliant book in the fabulous David Raker starts with a whole village disappearing on Halloween and every page is so are two stories running through the book Raker's 5/5(10).

One of the most notable works by Tim Weaver is the David Raker missing persons series. This is one of the few series which can be read in any order without losing track of the developing story. There is an aspect of looking for somebody who has vanished in each story. In Chasing The Dead for example, the search for Alex is on. In The Dead. In I discovered and read 'The Dead Tracks' The Dead Tracks: David Raker Novel #2 No.2 in the series and followed that up with 'Vanished' Vanished: David Raker Novel #3 No. 3 in the series. In comparison to this book they are toned down a bit, not quite so gorey, but no less readable and gripping/5().

RAKER follows an incident one evening when Dr. Norman Stravinsky sends his RAKER android out to deliver a sensitive file to a colleague. On its way back home the RAKER encounters a crime in progress. The android must decide whether to ignore the crime and return to its primary duties as Stravinsky’s bodyguard, or act to prevent the crime from /4(64).   The Raker's are pretty all-consuming to write: they're quite complex in terms of the amount of ball-juggling I'm doing, it takes months and months for my tiny brain to figure out what goes where, and by the time I'm done with one, the very last thing I want to do is go straight into writing another, new book. I want a few weeks off, to think.
